Two Evil Eyes is two short films based off of short stories by Edgar Allen Poe. George Romero directed the first short, The Facts In The Case Of M. Valdemar. Argento wrote and directed the second, The Black Cat (Il gatto nero). The film updates the story to modern times. Rod Usher (Harvey Keitel) is a gorehound photographer, his girlfriend (Madeleine Potter) takes in a black cat that Keitel can't stand. Keitel ends up killing the cat resulting in his loss of control in his actions. The effects were done by Tom Savini.
